How to Easily Track Your Child's Temperature When Your Child Has a Fever

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Enfasmart for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Every time I set foot in the doctor's office, I immediately forget every symptom the child has had. Just like my child suddenly is fine and no longer acts or looks sick as soon as we arrive at the doctor, I can't remember a thing about what was ever wrong in the first place. Ugh! I tell myself I will not forget--I will remember each detail and pass the information on! But real life interferes and my brain just can't track it all, care for the sick child, and still be a mother to the other children in the home. I need help remembering the information to pass on to the doctor.

How to Track Your Child's Temperature When Your Child Has a Fever. Journal the information easily on your smartphone.

I love the FeverSense product for that very reason. FeverSense is a wearable thermometer that monitors the temperature of your child continuously. You put the thermometer in your child's armpit. It then sends updates to your smartphone. It is all wireless and you can see the temperature on your phone! All you do is download the free app so you can see the information.

How To Have Peace of Mind When Your Child Has a Fever

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Enfasmart. All opinions are 100% mine.

When your child has a fever, your worry and stress as a parent can spike rather rapidly. The higher the fever, the higher the worry. While you know, as Daniel Tiger knows, when you're sick, rest is best, sending your child off to sleep in his or her room can be a scary prospect because then you can't closely monitor your child and the fever. Having to wake your child frequently to check the fever is important so you can monitor the situation, but it isn't helpful to the goal of rest.

Feversense Continuous Monitoring Thermometer

Fortunately, we live in a world of innovation and problem solvers, and someone has stepped up and solved this problem. The Enfasmart FeverSense Thermometer is a continuous monitor. You place the wireless monitor in your child's armpit, download the free app that goes with the thermometer, and you monitor the temps from your phone! You can easily check the app to see what your child's temperature is at any time.

This is life changing. No more waking up your child to check the temperature. No more keeping the child in the traffic of the house so you can quickly check the temperature. No more sleeping in your child's room when she is sick or having her sleep in your room so you can easily monitor temperature. You don't even need to slip into your child's room to check the temperature through the night. All you have to do is check the app.

You all know I am a big proponent of sleep. I know all of you know and understand how important sleep is. When your child is sick, sleep is that much more important and powerful. When your child is sick and can rest without being interrupted, the body is able to really get that rest needed to fight off the sickness.
“One of the things that happens when we sleep is that we can get a better fever response,” Balachandran says. “This is why fevers tend to rise at night. But if we are not sleeping, our fever reaction is not primed, so we may not be waging war on infection as best we can.” source
Feversense Continuous Monitoring ThermometerThe body and immune system need sleep when fighting an illness. The more we sleep, the better our bodies can fight the illness. This monitor allows us as parents to feel comfortable letting our children rest. We don't need to disturb them to take a temperature because we can easily check our phones to see the temperature.

Another benefit I can think of is that I don't have to be touching the sick child as often. I don't mind touching my sick kids at all. I am ready and willing to get sick in the process of helping my sick child. However, as a mother of multiple children, every time I touch the sick child, I am worried about spreading that sickness to the other children.

Not needing to check temperature as often will really help with me being more careful about not spreading the sickness to the other children. Small little things like this make mom life that much easier.
This will also bring so much peace of mind to me as a mother when I have a sick child. It can be hard to sleep myself at night when I have a child with a fever in my home. I have one child, Kaitlyn, who really tends to get high fevers. It is not uncommon for her to hover around 104 degrees Fahrenheit when she is sick. This is quite high and something I watch closely. With this new thermometer, I will be able to let her sleep and still closely watch that temperature. I will also be able to stay more rested because I can check her temperature from my bed rather than having to get up and go into her room. That means I get more of the sleep I need to fight off the sickness myself.

I am so thrilled this product is out there now and really look forward to having this tool for myself the next time I have a child with a fever. The continuous monitor will be a great tool for helping my child get the rest he or she needs while I can track their temperature throughout the day and night and use the journaling feature to share with the doctor.

The Ultimate Mom Planner

"It is like someone reached in my brain and created the perfect planner to track everything I think about!"

I love to organize. That is no secret. Organizing is fun for me and relatively easy. I have always used a simple dollar store planner to organize the things I write down. Yes, you read that correctly. A dollar store planner. And that worked on a level. I also used several apps on my phone to stay organized.

The Ultimate Mom Planner | planner | 2018 | organization | #planner #organizing

But for 2018, I decided I wanted a paper planner that was a bit more involved than the dollar store one. So I started my research.

I found a great one from In The Leafy Treetops. I reached out to them to see if they would like to send me one to review, and they said yes!

When it came, I was floored.

Like I said, I did some research beforehand and thought it looked fantastic. That is why I chose them to reach out to. I expected it to be good.

But not this good.

I went through it, page by page, marveling at it.

"It is like someone reached in my brain and created the perfect planner to track everything I think about!" I told my husband, "I can't believe someone could actually create this! It is just amazing!"

At the risk of over-selling this, the website does not do this planner justice. I don't know if anything other than the planner itself can do it justice. I cannot wait for 2018 to get here so I can try this thing out!

It has everything a mom needs to track in this planner. Months, yes of course. Birthdays, to be
expected. Contacts, sure.

It also has some things you don't expect to see. Like, a place for you to write down all of your own interests and favorites. You know, like how you have in the little school year scrapbooks for your kids? This is for YOU. Sure, you know now. How precious will those details be to your children someday? Or to you even in a year to see if and how your interests have changed.

It has a place to track all of your policy numbers.

Different months have different features to track. For example, January includes a goal-setting section. December has a very comprehensive Christmas planning section. You can track your summer plans and goals in June. Back to school lists are in August. Thanksgiving planning in November.

You can track financial goals. There are pages for that.

You can track needs, wants, talents, hobbies, birthday plans, shoe size, pants size...for each child. There is a section for that.

I just can't even get over it! I feel like my brain is going to weigh 100 pounds less once I get all of the info out of it and into this one place.

So. Check the website out. There are many cute covers to choose from. All of them have the same great information inside. They have offered a special discount code for you readers! If you want one, use the code "Babywisemom" to get a discount. It's good for $4.99 off an order of $39.98 or more. In other words, if your order a planner and accessory they can get an accessory for free. Wahoo! This is a great gift idea for you if you are looking for things to tell people.

Below are some pictures of some pages, but check out the website to get the full details and to see some images of the pages.

Goodness Bee Eczema Balm {Giveaway}

I was given a sample of this product in exchange for a review. All stories and opinions are my own.

Almost one year ago, I introduced you to Goodness Bee Eczema Balm. It was a life-changing find at our house (and you know I don't say stuff like that lightly). What better way to celebrate a one-year anniversary of something so impactful than to do another giveaway!

Okay people. This stuff works. It works better than anything else I have ever used on my girls for dry skin/eczema spots.

Ever since Kaitlyn was a toddler, she has had a dry crack on her lip, right at the corner of her mouth. It gets worse at certain times of year. But it was almost always there. When I look at pictures, it is usually present. Since they sent us this cream last year, it has never gotten bad again. Any time we see it start to creep up, we apply the cream and BAM! It is gone. She never has to apply more than once a day to keep that painful crack away from her life. It use to get so bad it would split and bleed and scab up...no more.

Not only does that banish pain for her, but she is now nine years old, and nine year olds start to get self-conscious about big scabs on their face.

This not only works for eczema issues, but just dry skin that comes up. You know the raw skin under the nose during a cold? This works on that, too. If you live where you have season change, you know that extremely dry skin you get in the season change time? This works on that. Dry lips? This even makes a great chap stick.

I love this stuff and highly recommend it to you! And today you get to enter to win some to try out. Enter below and good luck!

12 Products I Love for Summer

With temperatures nudging 100 degrees today, I feel summer in full swing. What products are great for summer? Here are some of my favorites. There should be something for everyone here! This post contains affiliate links.

I don't know if I could love the sandbox toys from Melissa and Doug anymore. They are so fantastic. They have fun food sets for sandboxes, which is so fun for the kids. My kids love to play "Chopped" with these various toys. We have the Ice Cream set, the Baking set, and the Cupcake set. For years I had purchased just cheap sandbox toys, but a few years ago I started to get the more expensive and yet nicer toys from Melissa and Doug. It is very worth it! They last much longer, which means you spend less money over the years.

Lifetime Kayak
For years, we have spent time at our neighbor's property on Bear Lake where they have kayaks. The kayak has always been Brayden's favorite thing to do there. So this year, we got him a kayak for his birthday. He loves it. A whole lot. If you have close enough access to water, this is a very fun thing to own (but you will also want space to store it! If you don't, you might want to go for an inflatable kayak).

Speedo Rashguard
I super love having a rashguard for my kids when playing outside in the water. That skin on the shoulders and back can be so sensitive and obviously doesn't see sun as regularly and is more prone to burning. I love not worrying about that sensitive skin when we are out in the sun all day. Speedo is a great brand for longevity, which I always care about when buying girl stuff since I can ideally use it through three girls. I got this one for Kaitlyn and she is loving it. It is cute (and comes in multiple base colors) and of course good quality.

Speedo Boardshort
I don't want the rashguard without the boardshort. Again, I went with Speedo since I have grown to trust it for swimwear for our swimming gear. These are great shorts and even have pockets, which we girls know is a rare treat in female products!

Kanu Surf Swimsuit
This is the swimsuit Kaitlyn is using right now. Oh I love it! It is cute! It is nice and also very modest. It comes in several color options and even some different style options. I got a different kind for McKenna and regret it. It is very low cut in the front. This one, I would get again and again.

Toddler Rashguard Suit
For smaller girls, you can find rash guard sets easily and for decent prices. I got this set for Brinley. When she got it, she said, "I always wanted one exactly like this!" haha! I loved it when we were at the pool because I could easily see her among the many children in the kiddie pool. The coral basically glowed. I highly recommend bright suits or bright features so you can easily distinguish your kiddos from the rest.

Fitbit Cover
This one is for you. I accidentally came across this Fitbit Cover one day while purusing Amazon. I  have long wanted something with my Fitbit to add some cuteness to it. I was wearing mine one day and a waitress asked me where I got it and commented that now she wanted a Fitbit just to get a cute cover! Ha! She told me she had wanted a Fitbit, but didn't like how it wasn't cute. There are a lot of options out there, so you can find something that strikes your fancy. This is great for summer because you have short sleeves going on. You can make the fitbit look like a cute accessory rather than a utility on your wrist.

Crossbody Bag
For summer, I wanted a light purse I could stash what we needed when I was taking the kids out and about. I loved the idea of a crossbody bag. That would leave my arms free. This bag is plenty large for my needs. The other night when Kaitlyn and I went to the rodeo, we had both of our jackets among other things in the bag. It also has a small little pocket that can fit some chapstick or keys in, which is nice since if it is full, digging for keys is no fun. I love that it is less than $7.00 because this isn't something I am looking to be my long-term, forever purse. This is my take the kids out without a diaper bag (yay!) purse.

Coleman Quad Chair
When my husband and I got married, we were given some really nice camping chairs as a wedding gift. We have used those same chairs for 12 years. And we used them for real. They went camping, in our backyard around the fire, and to countless soccer games. They were haggard. It really had gotten to the point where it was embarrassing to sit in them. It was probably well beyond that point. So I decided to bite the bullet and buy new chairs. I had big hesitations. I liked our good quality chairs and haven't been able to find any like them in stores. I have noticed the quality of these chairs steadily declining. You can buy one for $5, but you will buy one again in a year because it will be broken. So after much research and literally pondering on it for a year (guys, I take buying stuff seriously!), I went with these Coleman Quad Chairs. And I love them! They are very well made. I love that there is a drink holder (a must). I also like the cooler pocket. I have yet to use it as it is intended, but it makes a fantastic garbage. You know how moms are the automatic garbage can? Well, when the kids bring me their garbage, I can just put it in that zippered pocket and take care of it at home.

Hammock
Heaven on Earth. This hammock has become the number one favorite reading spot for the kids this summer. I went with this one because it can go anywhere, which means I don't need two trees big enough and close enough together for it. We all love it. There are different fabric types for this hammock, so if you decide to get one, be sure to read about the different kinds. I went with the sunbrella because it is supposed to stand up to sun and weather the best.

Book on Tape
This is my number one tip for driving long distances with children in the car. Last summer, we drove 10 hours each way to Colorado. We listened to the first Harry Potter book as we went. It took the entire drive there and back as well as driving while on vacation. But all of the children loved it, including Brinley who was two at the time. My husband loved having something interesting to listen to as the driver (he likes music, but not enough to love just music for the whole drive. Kind of crazy). Kaitlyn, who had previously been nervous about reading such a long book, came home and read the next three books in about a week. This summer, we will do the second Harry Potter book for our long road trip drive.

Leathercraft Gloves
My husband likes to do projects around the house, and when working around the house, a good pair of gloves is super handy. Nate loves these gloves so much that we purchase them again every time they wear out (which happens in a reasonable time frame) and we have given them to our dads for gifts. We got a pair for Brayden and I to share for working on the home addition we are doing...because, guys, my oldest child and I wear the same size of gloves. That's crazy.

Products I Love

You know when you love something and you just want to make sure everyone knows about it so they can love it, too? Here are some things I am loving right now. This post contains affiliate links.

I could never, ever, ever say enough about how much I love these speakers. I have been eyeing them for a long time and in the last six months have bought a few. You can fill a large room with one speaker (the Play 5). You can fill a normal size room with one speaker (the Play 1). You can control the music and volume from your phone or other device that uses apps. You can also control it at the speaker or from your computer. You can sync all speakers through your house to play the same thing or each one can play a different song. It is fantastic.

Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer
I know I have told you about this before, but I love it enough to iterate. And reiterate. I love it. It is as easy to apply as chapstick but looks like lipstick. It is all natural. I love it. A lot.

World Traveler 13.5 Inch Beach Bag

I don't know if I would say this is the best tote to ever exist, but it is pretty fantastic. It is a great size for carrying a fair amount in, but it isn't huge and bulky. I use this to carry all of the stuff I use for directing the musical at our school. I carry a large script in a binder, another binder, a couple of clipboards, notebooks, and paper organizers. I also carry a variety of pens, pencils, and highlighers. I also carry with me a drink and snacks. It comes in a large variety of colors and patterns. I love it enough that I bought one for my assistant director because it makes my life easier.

I am new to contacts; I have only been wearing them for a little over a year. When I first got them, the doctor gave me a small Biotrue bottle of solution. Once that ran out, I headed to Walmart to buy some more. Gag me on the price! So I went with the Equate brand of solution. What could the difference be?

The difference was sore eyes after a couple of hours versus being fine at the end of the day. After a year of using the Equate, I saw this Biotrue in a two pack for a good price on Amazon. I went for it and my eyes are back to feeling good again!

If you follow me on Instagram, you have seen my photos of my Areo Garden. Oh I love it more and more as time goes by! I want another one. I bought this last summer. I started growing herbs in it last fall. The lasted until a couple of weeks ago. I am now working on lettuce and cherry tomatoes. It was the easiest way to do herbs, and I will definitely be going for that this summer while working on my outside garden. Herbs can be very picky about heat, light, and water and so growing them indoors was perfect.

I just love Sanuk shoes. They are super comfortable and super cute. I will tell you my secret to buying Sanuks for a good price. Go to Amazon and search for "Sanuk Women's." Then choose your shoes size and scroll through the pics. If anything is $30 or less, it is a great deal and I highly encourage you to go for it (if you think it is cute). Price change hourly on Sanuks on Amazon, so don't delay and don't give up.

My 6 year old and 8 year old daughters alike super love this series. One is into princesses, but the other isn't at all. They are fun for all types of girls. I highly recommend you try them out.

iPhone Case FYY
I have seen a few of my friends with these type of cases fro their phones and wondered how they are. I LOVE having mine! Seriously. I don't know if I will ever go back to a normal case. I keep my licence and a credit card in there so I always have the two with m.

My husband loves these gloves. We continually buy more as he wears them out over time. He loves them enough that we have given them to our fathers for gifts, also.

Fancy Shoes for Play Shoes (Link Larisa-39K Ballet Flats)
I wanted to get Brinley some play shoes for Christmas for dress up. I did not want, however, to spend as much money as companies wanted me to spend for a pair of play shoes. So instead I found some fancy, fun shoes on Amazon for cheaper than most play shoes and gave those to her for play shoes. She can do what she wants with them, including wear them out of the house.

This is a game the whole family can have fun with. We love to play games as a family, but you can imagine with children ranging from 3-10, it is hard to find something appealing to everyone that everyone can participate in. Story Cubes is that game. It is a great group game, too. We played it at a family Christmas party and just had everyone roll one die and we built on the story from person to person.

I love Our Best Bites. Their recipes are simple but completely delicious. They have a 400 calories or less cookbook. Delicious and low calories! Wahoo! The things I have made so far have all been as good as I have come to expect from them.

These are fantastic. They are a no mess way of writing. This is a great no-mess thing to put in a church bag or to have for car rides. No more melted crayons found in the third row on a hot summer day. No more church bag full of activities. We decided a boogie board is enough to entertain a child. And it has been!

This is a cheap machine and it works so well. We had a Stir-Crazy, which my roommate had in college and it was awesome, but ours was a dud. A Lemon. We have loved this.

I LOVE these! I have purchased expensive oven mitts over the years and have never found one that would not burn my hand. I tried these out and they are fantastic. They keep hands cool and they are easily cleaned--you can't stain them (at least I haven't yet). I got these for my mom and Nate's mom for Mother's Day last year and they have both loved them, also.
